The Petal Pushers® are a group of volunteers who gather annually to decorate the Lutheran Hour Float and other floats. We look forward to having you join us this year!

We welcome individuals, families, seniors, youth groups, fellowship groups, school classes, and Boy/Girl Scout Troops.

Everyone 13 and older is WELCOME!

Please note, youth groups must be accompanied by adults at a ratio of one (1) adult per five (5) youth.

NOTICE: Due to safety concerns and insurance regulations, all volunteers MUST be 13 years or older.

Join the Petal Pushers and support Lutheran Hour Ministries 76th year of witnessing the gospel message at the Rose Parade.

Enjoy 1-3 days of decorating and preparing the meaningful floats, including the only Christian float in the Rose Parade.

And on January 1st, you will view the Rose Parade from your reserved grandstand seat along the world-famous Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA.

Along with hundreds of face-to-face witnessing conversations, Petal Pusher Outreach Ministry Booth participants will reach out to thousands this year:

* at the time of Rose Parade float decorating

* in the staging area for Rose Parade floats

* during post parade viewing of Rose Parade floats

Guests will be engaged in conversation and learn about the 2026 Lutheran Hour Ministries float.

Petal Pusher Outreach Booth Ministry participants will share the source of hope and joy that cannot be taken away by anything that the world throws at you.

I've Signed Up, Now What?

A Petal Pushers T-shirt or sweatshirt is REQUIRED in order to gain admission to the decorating building during decorating week (December 26th - January 1st).

These items can be purchased at the Phoenix decorating barn or pre-ordered HERE online.

(PLEASE NOTE: The last day that we ship shirts is Dec 16th. All other online orders for volunteers will be held for pick up at the Petal Pushers Check-in booth.)

December mornings can be chilly in Pasadena (temps in the 40's) so dress warm in layers, but the Petal Pushers shirt must be worn as the outer-most garment.

Parking is available in a nearby lot at 5440 Irwindale Ave (free) or on the streets around the building.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start for sign-in, instructions, and pizza order (optional).

The LHM Float Committee relies solely on the generous support of our many Christian friends.

The cost to enter the only Christian float in the Rose Parade is NOT budgeted by Lutheran Hour Ministries, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or any other Lutheran organization.

The LHMFC is totally self-funded by volunteers with NO salaried staff.

The Lutheran Hour Ministries Float Committee (LHMFC) invites children (ages Preschool - Grade 8) to participate in our 15th annual float coloring contest.

This 2026 float is a milestone for The Lutheran Hour Float, as it marks our
75th year of participation in the parade!

Show us YOUR colorful design while you use the colors from GOD’S beautiful creation.

If you would like an opportunity to view the floats up close and personal and see what happens 'behind the scenes,' THIS is the perfect opportunity for you!

All party guests are invited to a behind the scenes tour of the facility and the chance to meet and talk to some of the float riders and decorators.

The Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) Float Committee presents its 2027 entry for the Tournament of Roses Parade – "God’s Promises Welcome All"

Inspired by this year's Tournament of Roses Parade Theme: " Welcome", our float celebrates the beautiful truth that God's promises are for everyone.  Just like the story of Noah's Ark, it is a joyful reminder that we are all invited to follow God.

For centuries the Ark has been a symbol of promises God has made to the world.  It serves as a  reminder  of the sanctuary God provides to us in the Church from the perils of the world.  According to St. Peter, the Ark tells  us of the washing and rebirth we receive in baptism (1 Peter 3:20-21).  The Ark reminds us of God’s desire to renew and restore His creation – not just the people but every part of it..   This modern metaphor of Noah’s Ark joyfully celebrates  and welcomes all to know and trust God’s promises for them.  From every creature to every person, God has new and abundant life for all.

The invitation is not limited by ethnicity or geography.  Jesus commissioned His followers to go into all of the world and peach to every creature.  Anyone who is"in Christ" is a spiritual heir of God's promises.  

The float includes several symbols including the dove of peace, three crosses in the windows and a rainbow representing God's Covenant: a sign of His redeeming grace and mercy to all who believe.  (Genesis 9:8-17)

 In a world that longs for connection and community, this design reflects the warmth of being welcomed.  We invite you to discover that there is a place for you in the continuing story of God’s love.   LHM welcomes all to the promises of God.
