Petal Pushers® Float Decorating

The Petal Pushers® are a group of volunteers who gather annually to decorate the Lutheran Hour Float and other floats. We look forward to having you join us this year!

We welcome individuals, families, seniors, youth groups, fellowship groups, school classes, and Boy/Girl Scout Troops.

Everyone 13 and older is WELCOME!

Please note, youth groups must be accompanied by adults at a ratio of one (1) adult per five (5) youth.

NOTICE: Due to safety concerns and insurance regulations, all volunteers MUST be 13 years or older.

Save time at the sign-in table and bring a completed hard copy of the Release and Liability Waiver with you, ready to turn in (one per person, per decorating season REQUIRED).

Join the Petal Pushers and support Lutheran Hour Ministries 75th year of witnessing the gospel message at the Rose Parade.

Enjoy 1-3 days of decorating and preparing the meaningful floats, including the only Christian float in the Rose Parade.

And on January 1st, you will view the Rose Parade from your reserved grandstand seat along the world-famous Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, CA.

Along with hundreds of face-to-face witnessing conversations, Petal Pusher Outreach Ministry Booth participants will reach out to thousands this year:

* at the time of Rose Parade float decorating

* in the staging area for Rose Parade floats

* during post parade viewing of Rose Parade floats

Guests will be engaged in conversation and learn about the 2026 Lutheran Hour Ministries float.

Petal Pusher Outreach Booth Ministry participants will share the source of hope and joy that cannot be taken away by anything that the world throws at you.

I've Signed Up, Now What?

A Petal Pushers T-shirt or sweatshirt is REQUIRED in order to gain admission to the decorating building during decorating week (December 26th - January 1st).

These items can be purchased at the Phoenix decorating barn or pre-ordered HERE online.

(PLEASE NOTE: The last day that we ship shirts is Dec 16th. All other online orders for volunteers will be held for pick up at the Petal Pushers Check-in booth.)

December mornings can be chilly in Pasadena (temps in the 40's) so dress warm in layers, but the Petal Pushers shirt must be worn as the outer-most garment.

Parking is available in a nearby lot at 5440 Irwindale Ave (free) or on the streets around the building.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start for sign-in, instructions, and pizza order (optional).

The LHM Float Committee relies solely on the generous support of our many Christian friends.

The cost to enter the only Christian float in the Rose Parade is NOT budgeted by Lutheran Hour Ministries, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or any other Lutheran organization.

The LHMFC is totally self-funded by volunteers with NO salaried staff.

The Lutheran Hour Ministries Float Committee (LHMFC) invites children (ages Preschool - Grade 8) to participate in our 15th annual float coloring contest.

This 2026 float is a milestone for The Lutheran Hour Float, as it marks our
75th year of participation in the parade!

If you would like an opportunity to view the floats up close and personal and see what happens 'behind the scenes,' THIS is the perfect opportunity for you!

All party guests are invited to a behind the scenes tour of the facility and the chance to meet and talk to some of the float riders and decorators.

Building off of the 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade Theme, "The Magic in Teamwork", The Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) Float Committee proudly presents its Diamond Anniversary Float,

"Bringing Christ to the Nations"

For 75 years LHM has started the new year with a Christian Message of hope in Jesus Christ in the form of a floral Rose Parade Float.This year's float features a Team Jesus Blimp flying over the world and coming forth from the church as Jesus celebrates with 12 modern-day disciples as it features the message ALL WELCOME.

"Team Jesus" serves as a reminder that it takes all to fulfill the callings Christ has placed upon us to do the work of bringing Christ and his redeeming love to the world. St. Paul reminds us in Romans 12: 4-5, EVS.For as in one body we have many members, and members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one in body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.....Riding on the float this year is a small representation of vocations Christ has called us for the building of His Church and furtherance of the Gospel message: a teacher, a missionary, a pastor, etc..Additional symbolism includes a Luther Seal on the nose of the blimp, Crosses on the side of the blimp, 75 on the tail for the 75th year of having a Lutheran float in the parade, and the Petal Pushers banner to represent the volunteer efforts of our 3,500+ individuals.

With this year's float, LHM invites you to meet or meet anew the source of hope and joy that cannot be taken away. Come, see, hear, and experience the goodness of Jesus Christ.
